Enver Haskasap Claims First Turkish Victory at Drift Kings

🏁 The third round of the 2024 Drift Kings International Series, held during the Trackwood Festival, was nothing short of spectacular. Sixty drivers battled it out on the renowned RabócsiRing circuit, a track celebrated for its challenging layout and intense competition. This round was pivotal in the journey towards the championship, with every point being fiercely contested.

The scorching weather added an extra layer of difficulty, pushing drivers to their limits as they navigated the track from Friday morning to Saturday evening. With temperatures soaring well above average, the intense heat created a grueling test of endurance and strategy. Adapting their setups for optimal engine cooling under the relentless heat, the drivers showcased remarkable skill and resilience. Cooling systems were pushed to their maximum capacity, while tire management became a critical factor as the scorching asphalt caused rapid wear and tear. Despite these challenges, the drivers maintained impressive performance, demonstrating their ability to perform under extreme conditions.

In the Queen Series, defending champion Sandra Janusauskaite showcased her dominance, clinching both the pole position and the victory by triumphing over Alice Ene in the final. This impressive performance solidified her status at the top. However, the competition was not without its dramas, as Deimante Radzeviciute experienced a heartbreaking engine failure just before the finals, underscoring the sport's inherent unpredictability.

Meanwhile, the Pro2 series continued to spotlight emerging Hungarian talent. Bruno Hagymási secured a notable victory, with Erik Lobmayer finishing in second place and earning crucial points in the championship standings. The series remains fiercely competitive, as another strong Hungarian contender, Richard Miklos, faced setbacks that caused him to lose ground in the title race. With the finals in Greece on the horizon, the battle for supremacy intensifies.

The Pro Series this year has been particularly exciting, with numerous names vying for round victories and the championship title. The challenge is fierce at every round, making it difficult to predict who will ultimately emerge as the champion. The series saw its third different winner in as many races, highlighting the intense competition. During qualifications, all favorites ranked at the top, with Gediminas Levickas taking pole position. However, a high-speed collision with Enver Haskasap in the Top 8 ended his run, though he remains a strong contender for the championship.

The competition included a thrilling Top 16 battle between Donatas Macpreiksas and Enver Haskasap, with Haskasap emerging victorious. Patrik Cselotei, another contender, faced mechanical issues and couldn't race due to gearbox problems.

The semi-finals featured intense battles, with Enver Haskasap going head-to-head against the legendary Italian Massimo Checchin and his iconic Subaru, while defending champion Giorgos Christoforou battled local star Peter Utasi. The Cypriot and Turkish drivers emerged victorious, advancing to the finals, while Massimo Checchin secured another Drift Kings podium by defeating Utasi. The unpredictable nature of the Pro Series continues to captivate fans and competitors alike, as the race for the championship remains wide open.

The final showdown between Haskasap and Christoforou was the highlight of the weekend. These two rivals, having previously faced off in Cyprus, brought their intense competition to Hungary. A collision during the first transition led to Christoforou's retirement, granting Haskasap his first-ever victory in the Drift Kings International Series. With consistent performance throughout the weekend, Haskasap made history as the first Turkish driver to win in the series.

Adding that it was a high-intensity final, these two guys are now gearing up with one thing in mind: the title. We will probably see them against each other in Germany, Greece, or Cyprus. However, let's not forget the top Lithuanian contenders and Italian Checchin, who are also hungry for the ProSeries King's crown.

As we look forward to Round 4 at the legendary Nürburgring circuit on September 14-15, the anticipation builds. With nearly 90 drivers expected to compete, questions loom: Can Haskasap secure another victory? Will Richard Miklos stage a comeback in Pro2? Can Alice Ene close the gap in the Queen Series? Join us to witness the next thrilling chapter of the Drift Kings International Series!
